A Justification For Match Grade .22 LR Ammo?

Well, is there really a big difference between Match Grade .22 LR and Standard .22 LR Target Rounds?  If there is, does it really matter?

YES, there is a major difference, and without putting them head to head it can be easy to forget how noticeable that difference is.  For this example we used ELEY Match Grade EPS .22 LR and a cheaper .22 LR target round that we will leave unnamed, both of which were in packs of 50.

One thing to remember while looking at this image, we are at 50 yards, imagine what this grouping starts to look like at a greater distances.

England Home Defense Weapon – The Broom

We just saw something on the news about residents of England defending their homes and neighborhoods with brooms….  REALLY, A BROOM?

Can you imagine only having a broom at your disposal to defend yourself, your property, family, friends, and neighbors?  I find that a shotgun, pistol or rifle works much better.  A criminal wants to meet as little resistance as possible.  A broom is like using a garden hose to put out a house fire.  I want a fire engine, not a garden hose.  The police are expected to defend the citizens, but what happens when that police force is stretched too thin?  You are $&!# out of luck!

John Browning Patent 544657 – Colt-Browning M1895, The Potato Digger

The Colt M1895 Automatic Machine Gun was a gas operated machine gun.  This was one of John Browning’s first Automatic Firearm Designs.

Reviewing his patents it is technically his second Automatic design, but the first to be produced and used in service.

The Colt M1895 was also known as The Potato Digger and the Browning Peacemaker.

John Browning was granted US Patent 544657 on August 20th, 1895 for the Model 1895.

He had applied for this patent on November 7th, 1892.

John Browning Patent 524702 – Winchester Model 1894

The Winchester Model 1894 or Model 94 Lever Action Rifle was a product of US Patent 524702, which was designed by the great John Browning.

The major advancement with this firearm was that it was the first repeating rifle to handle smokeless powder cartridges.  This made for a more reliable, dependable and quick rifle.  To this very day, the Model 94 is one of the most popular firearms in the world.  There are more than seven million Model 94 rifles out there.

US Patent 524702 for the Winchester Model 1894 was applied for by John Moses Browning on January 19th, 1894 and granted that same year on August 21st, 1894.
